"You usually don’t expect commencement speakers to stick around long after the speech is over, especially not when the speaker is the president.

However, when the venue is the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, things are a bit different. And, when the president is Donald Trump, things are a lot different.

In fact, he not only stuck around to shake hands with each and every grad following his commence address on Friday, he actually asked them whether he could do it.

Well, with a bit of a sly smile attached, one must note.
“I was given an option. I could make this commencement address, which is a great honor for me, and immediately leave and wave goodbye,” Trump asked the audience. “Or I could stay and shake hands with just the top 100. Or I could stay for hours and shake hands with 1,100 and something. What should I do? What should I do?”

Well, stay, of course. And stay he did.

During the speech itself, the president gave a rousing tribute both to the graduates themselves and to the American spirit.

“Four years ago, each of you made the most important decision of your lives,” the president told the graduates. “You chose the path of hard work, sweat, and sacrifice. You chose the life of honor, courage, and commitment. You chose to serve the nation and defend our great American flag. You chose the Navy, blue and gold, from the first moments of induction day.”

He also took a bold stand for the country the men and women defending it were taking a stand for.

“We are not going to apologize for America,” Trump said. “We are going to stand up for America. No more apologies. We are going to stand up for our citizens. We are going to stand up for our values. And we are going to stand up for our men and women in uniform.”

“Because we know that a nation must have pride in its history to have confidence in its future,” he continued. “We are the nation that built the highways, the railroads, the Empire State Building in one year, the Golden Gate Bridge, and we are the nation that built the Panama Canal.

“We trekked the mountains, explored the oceans, and settled the vast frontier. We won two world wars, defeated communism and fascism, and put a man on the face of the moon. We cured disease, pioneered science, and produced timeless works of art that inspire the human soul. And on distant islands, far-away battlefields, above the skies and beneath the sea, the entire world has borne witness to the unstoppable strength, skill, and courage of the United States Navy and the American Marines.”

There are two takeaways from the president’s speech to the graduates at the Naval Academy. The first is that he was willing to take a stand for America and those who defend it rhetorically through his remarks. Anyone could do that, however.

Then, he backed it up with a gesture that went viral in a major way, and you can see why. Our hats are off to Trump for doing it. However, the real heroes on this day are the ones whose hands were being shaken.”

Left-wing campus that booted whites reaps unintended consequences

"A far-left college that told white students and faculty they were unwelcome on campus last year for a series of seminars for minorities now is laying off faculty and staff because of a massive plunge in enrolment. The report about Evergreen State College comes from Campus Reform, which has monitored the situation since the latest scandal developed for the Olympia, Washington, school. The institution long has been known as a haven for left-wing extremism. In 2001, Professor Larry Mosqueda infamously declared: “If we multiply by 800-1,000 times the amount of pain, angst, and anger being currently felt by the American public, we might begin to understand how much the rest of the world feels as they are continually victimised by the U.S. ”The new report says Evergreen is eliminating dozens of staff positions as it struggles to cope with plummeting enrollment in the wake of the protests that engulfed campus last year.” The notice from John Carmichael, secretary to the college’s trustees, delivered the word to staff and faculty members that the school has already cut 24 faculty lines and eliminated 19 vacant staff positions. He warned, too, that another 20 staff members have been told they might lose their jobs. The moves are part of efforts to cut $5.9 million from the college’s budget, necessitated because of a massive collapse in enrollment. Student applications are down as much as 20 percent. There were riots on campus last year, protests and legal action when the school declared whites unwelcome. Then-professor Bret Weinstein questioned the actions, and student protesters besieged his classroom, held President George Bridges hostage in his office and forced him to “adopt their demands for additional diversity-related initiatives” At the time, rather than disciplining or expelling disruptive students, the college president thanked the protesters and rewarded them with concessions. Weinstein had told other faculty and staff members: “There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and underappreciated roles, and a group or coalition encouraging another group to go away. The first is a forceful call to consciousness which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself.” Scott Greer, author of “No Campus For White Men,” at the time expressed only contempt for such conduct by the college. “It’s completely insane, but not surprising,” said Greer. “We have a college president groveling and thanking the students who threw the campus into chaos. We have a college administration openly endorsing racial segregation. We have a college handing out more entitlements and financial gifts in what can only be regarded as something akin to paying off a ransom for a hostage. We have a college president]thanking students for essentially threatening the physical safety of one of his own professors. The worst part is that this is probably not even the peak of campus madness, but only a harbinger of what’s in store for other campuses.” Late last year, the college reached a $500,000 settlement with Weinstein, who along with his wife resigned from their positions because of the protests. They filed a $3.85 million claim alleging the college failed to “protect its employees from repeated provocative and corrosive verbal and written hostility based on race, as well as threats of physical violence.” The students this year demanded a series of events, both on and off campus, with some designated for all comers, while others were restricted to “POC,” or people of colour. Lawmakers viewed the publicly funded college’s antics as objectionable, and even considered forcing it to privatize last year."

" President Trump has been the most actively pro-life President in the history of our nation.

Those are big words, but they are accurate ones as well.

Almost immediately upon entering office the President reinstated the Mexico City policy, which bans the use of federal tax dollars to be used on overseas abortions. The President also defunded the United Nations Population Fund, and overturned an Obama era rule that forced states to provide funding for Planned Parenthood. He has fought at every turn to “de-fund” Planned Parenthood, but the congressional GOP keeps allowing that funding back into their budget bills. To get around the GOP intransigence, the President is preparing to use his executive authority to cut a massive portion of the federal monies that Planned Parenthood receives.

The Trump administration is announcing new regulations today to partially defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses of tens of millions of tax dollars. This is the second time Trump has taken steps to revoke taxpayer funding for the nation’s biggest abortion business — after yanking taxpayer from from International Planned Parenthood during his first week in office."

"It has been established that elements of the hate-Trump media have used pictures taken during the Obama administration to accuse the Trump administration of inhumane immigration practices.

Documentation of that can be found on the website Law&Crime.

This is yet another exposure of the blatant dishonesty embraced by media in general. The situation has become a populist news story; that is the folks know what is going on even as the press ignores a major controversy about its own continuing deceit.

If you want another vivid example of press dishonesty read Mollie Hemingway’s article on how the New York Times distorted the North Korean talks. Her article is posted on The Federalist.

Because of the corruption, millions have stopped buying newspapers, and cable news TV operations will soon come under the same pressure that has badly damaged ESPN: When credibility and fairness disappear so do consumers.

Ironically, the collapse of media standards is actually helping the person the press is out to get - a man named Donald Trump. Accusations against him are now routinely ignored by Americans not steeped in ideology. The Stormy Daniels debacle proves this. It simply does not matter to many what the woman says even if CNN runs blanket coverage of the story.”

"The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum – even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate."
